Finding money in the budget for a vacation has been more challenging over the past year. It seems likely that we’ll need to put off the expensive trips for the time being. If you do have a little money for a sunny vacation, here are some ideas about affordable destinations where you can find some warm weather.
The first place that comes to mind is good old Southern California. There are pushing 100 miles of great accessible beaches between San Diego to Malibu, dozens of places where you can lay out your towel. With some effort you’ll locate travel deals for several Orange County tourism destinations if you are willing to put in the timewith some online research. If you’d like to go further south, you might want to look to Cancun in Mexico.
Specifically, you can find many nice hotel deals online, and this resort city on the Yucatan Peninsula has a lot to offer summer travel visitors. The city includes a long peninsula with dozens of beachfront hotels. One thing that is not lacking in Cancun is warm weather.
If you do wish to visit Central America, Cancun is just one of many great resort areas. Consider also Jamaica and Playa del Carmen. But spend the time necessary to research carefully your intended destination, not only to make sure the trip goes well but also to learn about the area (culture, history, interesting attractions, etc.) to make the trip more fun. I’m not sure how we made it before Google came along, but now it is possible to obtain an amazing amount of research information before you embark on your warm-weather vacation.
